A Preview of the 2010 Toyota Supra

Is this a preview of what the 2010 model of the Toyota Supra will look like? The very FT-HS-looking Supra? Apparently so, or at least according to Japanese car magazine Best Cars, who made this artists rendering of what they are saying the 2010 model of the Toyota Supra will look like.

Toyota Supra vs. Mustang Cobra — WHO YA GOT??

Now let me just say that we here at 2008toyotasupra.net do not condone drag racing, but um, this is pretty damn cool anyways. A soup up Toyota Supra up against a soup up Mustang Cobra. Who do you think will win? Find out in this 3-minute video. Seriously, when you see flames coming out of a car’s muffler, you’re going pretty bloody fast!

Is the Toyota FT-HS Closer to Production?

Another day, another rumor that Toyota is ready (or close to being ready) to move the FT-HS concept car into production. Or are they? According to Auto Week, Kazuo Okamoto, the executive vice president of Research and Development for Toyota, the car company may be ready to move the FT-HS concept car into production at last.

What Should the 2008 Toyota Supra Be Like?

Who knows if Toyota will ever release a Supra for 2008 or 2009 that isn’t a Hybrid, but in case it did, what would (or more importantly, what SHOULD) it sport for the consumer? Burnz Post has a couple of opinions:

This is No Way to Treat a Toyota Supra

This is definitely no way to treat a Toyota Supra. The guy driving is Nick Hogan, son of the famous wrestler Hulk Hogan. How and why a 17-year old kid ended up with his Toyota Supra wrapped around a tree in Florida is a mystery, but more of a mystery is why a 17-year old kid was given a snazzy Toyota Supra in the first place. WTF??? Apparently this isn’t the first time the little brat has done something bad with his car; the spoiled punk has already been ticketed four times for speeding since 2006.

Toyota Team SARD Wins Tokachi

Toyota Team SARD’s specially-prepared Supra HV-R hybrid GT racer has won the Tokachi 24-hour endurance race in Japan! This news from Autoblog, who goes on:

The converted Super GT-spec racing car did so convincingly, too. As the only GT-class car in the field, the Denso SARD Supra HV-R maintained a steady lead of several laps throughout the course of the race, and in the later hours, it essentially dialed things up a notch and ran away from the rest of the field. After starting from the pole position, the Supra completed 616 laps in the ensuing 24 hours — 19 more than the second-place finisher. The victory marks the first of its type for a hybrid-powered vehicle.

Toyota to Enter the Denso SARD Supra HV-R in Tokachi

After finishing 4th in class and 17th overall last year with the Lexus GS450h, Team Toyota is heading back to the Tokachi 24-hour endurance race in Japan on July 15th, 2007 with a souped up Denso SARD Supra HV-R (pictures below). More info and specs on the Supra HV-R from AutoblogGreen (via):

Toyota FT-HS Hybrid is the Supra 2009

I’m not sure what this means for the maybe-maybe not release of the Toyota Supra 2008, but many auto sites are reporting that the Toyota FT-HS Hybrid Concept Car shown at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show will become reality, and be released as Toyota’s official 2009 Supra, although it might get a new name very soon.
